Sharon is the principal farmer and designer at Sweethaven Farm & Flowers®. Sharon brings over 25 years of business management and practical small farming experience to the Sweethaven Farm & Flowers.  Sharon has a passion for flowers and finds her inspiration for crop choices and floral arrangements from her grandmother's extensive cutting gardens in Northwestern CT.  Sharon has many year’s of floral design experience and has attended workshops and seminars with notable designers Frederic Dupree, Tulipina, Nasombi Woodson & Joshua Werber. She has also attended a variety of master classes at the Flower School - NY and with the New York Botanical Garden Floral Design program. Sharon embraces a natural, garden style approach in her designs and works exclusively with clients who are interested in bespoke floral arrangements for their wedding or event. While a busy farm schedule precluded her from meeting the volunteer requirements associated with obtaining Master Gardener Certification, Sharon attended and passed all Master Gardener credential exams and completed the full suite of course work in 2020.

While we no longer have livestock on the farm, Sharon successfully ran an a-seasonal breeding program for registered polled Dorset sheep and a meat production program at the farm and kept a few pleasure horses during the early days. The flock was transferred to another farm a few years ago and sadly horses were re-homed to accommodate the growth of the floral business and and demands of a busy wedding and event schedule.

Sharon holds an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Isenberg School of Management and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Westfield State College.  She has participated in a number of exceptional farm management programs sponsored by Penn State University, Colorado State University. In addition to farming, Sharon has over 25 years of business experience specializing in enterprise and credit risk management for commercial banking organizations and financial industry regulators in Western MA, New York City, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, DC.
